SEEKING TALENTED EDUCATORS to work with INFANTS THROUGH 5TH GRADE
For 50 years, Katherine Michiels School (KMS) has been an ever-evolving, joy-filled project that puts the child first in early childhood education in the heart of San Francisco.
At Katherine Michiels School, we are seeking inspired educators, creators, and community-builders to join our Infant/Toddler, Preschool, Elementary, After School, and Summer programs. No matter the role or age group, our teachers share a commitment to co-creating learning with children; designing experiences that honor curiosity, community, and the hundred languages of childhood. Whether supporting our youngest learners as they form the foundations of identity; guiding preschoolers in expressive, sensory-rich explorations; or collaborating with elementary students as they pursue deep, project-based inquiries, every position at KMS centers relationship, reflection, and the belief that children are powerful protagonists in their own growth. Our staff learn with and from one another daily, drawing on Reggio-inspired practices, rich environments, documentation, collaboration, and the joyful spontaneity of emergent curricula.
We welcome educators of many backgrounds; from early childhood specialists to summer camp counselors, from multi-subject elementary teachers to creative makers, gardeners, storytellers, and people who see learning as a living process. All roles at KMS share the same foundation: designing meaningful, hands-on experiences; supporting social-emotional development; collaborating with colleagues and families; and contributing to a 50-year legacy of progressive, child-centered education in the heart of the Mission District.
WHY KMS?
For five decades, KMS has remained at the forefront of progressive, child-centered education in San Francisco. Our educators are designers, researchers, collaborators, and community builders. They help children learn deeply about themselves, their environment, and their community through exploration, relationships, and joy. If you are eager to contribute your talents to a school that honors creativity, equity, and the power of possibility — we would love to meet you.
